If you want the top class about accelerometer, go to servoaccelerometers at SlopeIndicator (USA)

something that may have a pretty high demand as used parts get harder and way more expensive to find would be a electronic replacement for the rheostat that is inside the heater servos. It would be real nice if it could replace the board that is in there now and eliminate the troublesome crap thats in there yet keep the same case and motor intact.

I'm always willing to consider new projects as long as the potential sales volume exists...

That is one of the big problems for 964 heating servos

I am not familiar with the unit, or the specific problem. Please contact me off list or start a new thread if several people wish to discuss further.

John,
Putting my wallet where my mouth is, I have now ordered (2) accelerometers.
As for the heating servos, I'd be on the line for a few as well.

Quick update:
Got the sensors last friday. Very quick indeed.
Fitted them this afternoon; they are really plug and play. Same spacing for the mounting screws, stainless fasteners included. Connectors are a perfect fit.
First drive tomorrow. Will report after a while.
So far so good.

Update: 5 days of daily driving, zero issues.
No highway or spirited driving, though. Will report again later.

Update:
After 1 month of driving, on all roads, including highways (where the first sensor showed its failure), everything is fine.
So, good buy for me.

Can you help me out here? What is the reason to make these lateral acceleration sensor? Are the factory originals not engineneered properly or failing. If so what exactly happens to warn you of this. Can you simply disconnect them. I know the C4's have them as well as the Tiptronic's having one. As mentioned above the Tiptronic lateral acceleration sensor senses hard cornering, keeping the trans from up shifting in a corner. Has anybody had any symtoms they are experiencing with the Tips. I know some people experience late shifting after start up. Mine does this once in a blue moon but I dont pay it any mind because at the next stop it shifts normal. I know lateral means side ti side and after reading this thread it came to me that the shifting happens after I leave my car parked on a lateral angled parking spot. For instance, I go to this mall frequently and park in the same spot every time at a leteral angle and when I leave a few hours later my Tip shifts late leaving. It's ok if you think I'm nuts.

The factory units do fail, and they're getting more expensive. Not to mention the fact that they're radically outdated, technology wise.

If yours are working, no worries- my '90 is on the factory originals as well and not a hint of trouble. This doesn't stop me from taking pleasure in the knowledge that if I do need new, I can get something both better and cheaper than the P-part.
