I'm sure there is an official list of benefits of being a member but here are mine. The first two are the main ones for me.
1) Supports a great website with zero advertisements
2) Allows access to Off topic forum - many hours of fun and wackiness
3) Allows posting of photos
Edit - Found the official list of benefits = https://rennlist.com/members.htm#Mem...%20Information

This site was founded by a couple enthusiasts, who put a lot of their own time and money into building it up into what it was today. When they ran it, I was glad to chip in to help defray expenses, given how valuable a resource Rennlist is.
However, after the site had grown quite large, they sold Rennlist to Internet Brands, which uses the site as "vehicle" to put ads in front of you. Make no mistake about it - Rennlist is now a for-profit web forum. (IB has in fact now been purchased by a private equity firm). If anything, Internet Brands should now be paying the more valuable contributors to this site for the technical content they create, as that's what draws most people here!
As far as I can tell, the only real benefit of being a paid member now is to be able to hang out in the off-topic forums (which I found a bit disturbing at times). When my subscription expired, I didn't renew.

At €13.50 for a year, I'm happy to keep paying as a member.
I agree with cwrm4 that it was different when John was involved, but I'm still happy to pay for something that I find entertaining and valuable.
There's not much you can get for a tenner these days, and Rennlist 964 forum is about the best that I've found...

What you really mean is the fact that you are comfortable allowing me and other paying members to help you view for free. You shouldn't be.

Ive saved myself far more than the subscription fee with self fixing advice for my cars. It would be cheap at 10x the price. I'd feel uncomfortable having paid nothing for such a great resource and great community. I dont care if someone is making money from it. I wish i'd thought of it first. more money = more 911's.
