Has anyone carried this out as I have to repair both ends of the scuttle might go a step further and change the wipers to 993 set up just to be a bit different
I got the idea from Teaboy over on impactbumpers.com who converted is 86 3.2 the scuttle was reasonably straightforward but getting the motor to fit underneath was more of an issue, so wondering if the 993 motor will fit ok or if any of the heater gubbins are in the way.
apologies for the bump but about to start plan for this .. does the 964 wiper motor still work with mod's to alter the position of the spindles or do you have to change to the 993 wiper motor?
I don't see much of an advantage. Although I don't drive in the rain all that much and yes the double springs were added in 1992 and can be retrofited to any of the earlier cars.
thanks Cobalt .. not referring to the springs but to the actual wiper machine/mechanism
.. doing it as I have bought an incomplete project - a 964 with 993 GT2 body kit so it makes sense to update the wiper position.
It's a bit rough although the guy has done the rear cage, alcantara seats and headliner, a flat grey paint job which needs to be polished up and PSS10s, big brakes
but the the beauty being it has a 1997 993 Cup Motor in it and I have a 3.6 964 Turbo case I'd rather rebuild and upgrade to suit the GT2 body.

I heard that same wiper conversion is used at Renaut Twingo late -90. C'ant confirm is this correct?

I agree if you're doing a 993 conversion IMO the 964 wipers would look out of place. In this case it is worth doing. Although I would save the 3.6T case as they are exceedingly hard to come by and will have value in the future. The 993 engine IMO has a lot of advantages and options available for upgrades the 964's do not. Both good cases and engines but I prefer to work on the 993 engines. Although I prefer to modify them with sold lifters and remove all the extra unneeded crap. Is the engine you are showing the cup engine? It has been a long time since I have seen one but it looks like a 95 needing some TLC to me.
