Unhappy LHD cup mirrors on RHD car

I have a pair of cup mirrors (tear drop) ready to be fitted to my RHD car. They have been painted and are ready to go, but I have just realized that the mirrors are for a LHD car. I now know that the bases are different. Has anyone installed LHD mirrors on a RHD car. Is the visuality greatly reduced and will it look odd?

You can buy the mirrors separately.

To be honest, it will look very odd. The mirrors will be 'wonky' and not straight because the door mirror positions are different on each side of the car between RHD and LHD cars...

You will probably not be happy and as frustrating as it is I would source the correct bases and sell yours on eBay.de or something...

They will be crap!

Are you sure they are LHD?

As you say, its just the bases that are different, the drivers base is the longer or higher one, whether LHD or RHD

I once had a 911 that had *one* wrong mirror. The right side was from a RHD car (on my LHD Carrera).
Looked absolute crap. The PO fitted it where the correct one would have been. The thing leaned horribly, then he proceeded to force a bolt between the foot and shell to straighten it, and to finish it off, wrapped the setup with black electrician tape.

I would get the correct feet, or regret it every time I drive the car.

Default Tear drop mirrors

Happy for you to compare the tear drop mirrors on my 964 if that would help you.

Send me a PM if you wanted to.

Thank you all for your replys. I think I am going to have to take the hit and change the bases. Hopefully my mechanic is able to separate the base from the mirror housing.*
