Default Rs rear screen weight?

Anybody know how much a rs screen is in weight compared to a c2/c4 wiper hole rear screen...

As just had one made with no hole/heater bars and it came out at 605 grams in laminated glass.

4 MM

Thanks fuch...

Wow.
You had a rear screen made from lami!
Bet that cost sum?

I dont know the weight of a 964 rear screen, but id put money on it that a standard toughened glass is lighter than a laminated glass.
And a RS rear is about the same as the standard glass, but has no wiper hole.
If weight was the aim then most use plastic.
Plastic is lighter than glass.

Ive only ever seen laminated rear glass in big limo type cars, s class + 7 series.

RS screen is thinner glass so must be lighter

Yes russ your right laminated glass will be a few grams more but I'm more interested in how much more as I have had it done for more look than light weight as you can buy a rs screen from Porsche in toughened glass at a price of £550 + vat...ish

I'm going to get the next one done with fine heated lines done like ford quickclear screen so it's still got the clean look but with heat & just the two wires at the bottom so getting rid of all the fussy terminals up the sides as the Porsche screens have.

Tom(lemass) is going to put a rear screen on the scales & see how much a stock window is in grams & will post up when I know...

This is my rear screen I got last year from Porsche with no hole or heat just plain green tint and that's it!!

Out of interest, my old RS rear glass looked identical to the standard rear glass but without the wiper hole, as has been said.
It even had the standard heated screen wires (standard RS, they all had them) but no heated rear screen, alternator not up to it apparently.

I think your right rocketdogbert as all the ones I have done have the lines but no wires to the window...I think mine is a cup/rsr rear screen as when I ordered it I had a nice Porsche parts guy and he went over the list of rear screens and found the one I have in the car now no hole no bars just plain green toughened glass....

The wires are a mess on a standard rear screen, a really poor design.
A lami heated screen will look better.
Take it you fitted it in the standard rubber?

Can you give more details about that idea?
I'd love to have such a rear screen with the fine heater lines.

Hi, Do you by any chance still have the part number for this 964 rear screen (no hole or heat)?
Thanks.
