Default Steering issue

Hello Renn!

I got a little issue with my c4 related to steering. So every time I make a left turn I noticed the steering wheel is 15 degrees turned to the right when it's going straight. Once it feels a groove or dip the steering wheel realigns straight.

1. I already checked the bushings all around and seemed to be fine
2. Already did an alignment and checked out well.
3. Thought it was the two camber bolts so I re tightened them
4. Tires have no feathering or wear anywhere.

After all this it still does the same. What do you guys think it is? Many thanks

Did you check the nut attaching the steering hub to the splined shaft? Could it be loose?

Lots of steering questions today?

OT: Marc, waiting for the VIR track report? I hope Saturday was dry, not sure about Sunday? Looks like you had a tailwind on the drive home!

Sorry for the hi-jack but VIR was a blast Saturday with Chin but Sunday was a wash - cold, wet, standing water, and windy. A GT3 and a Boxster were lost that day....

OP, that sounds bad. Maybe check also the joints at the bottom of the steering column (where the column mates to the rack input). There was a recall on these long ago....

You can view them by pulling out the driver floormat and floorboard.

Agreed, check your steering column universal joints. See this thread.

Checked the joints and all seem fine. Today I retorqued every bolt related to suspensions parts but still does this. At a lost here. What else can I check?

Have you checked your ball joints & tie rod ends? And is the power steering rack bolts tight? The ones that attach it to the bottom of the car?
