Am I lucky or what? I have always wanted to buy this poster, never got around to it. She bought it and had it professionally framed. This thing is large, nearly 4' square! Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the first 200 964's were red, and they lined them up for this shot, so my car might even be in there, how cool is that!? Baby photo of my car!

I'd like to hear the story behind this photograph...given the variety of body types, colors and options on the assembly line (every car usually is different).
Was it normal for Porshe to build a couple couple hundred similar cars for a product launch?
And YES, you have a great girlfriend.

I have that poster and always thought it was photoshopped (or whatever was being used back then - call it mechanically manipulated)
so if its real and there is a story - bring it....

She bought it from ebay. I remember seeing it on a dealers' wall years ago(had the car 14 years now!). I don't remember where I heard the story, but if you look at the registry link somewhere in these posts, all of the early cars were guards red, with the exception of one, which is curious. The poster is really cool, not photoshopped, because looking at it closer shows some random people in it, wearing red, with some of the cars' doors open, and the overall photo has a fish eye effect from the camera lens. Also, the markings where the cars were to be parked are hand drawn in chalk, as they all look slightly different. I would guess this was taken on part of the test track at the factory. Besides, I doubt photoshop was around in 88-89?

That would be cool, the only time I could think that would be possible is the Hershey swap meet here in the states every spring. Not too many gatherings of 200 plus cars. I bet it would take a while to set up, and someone to mark lines, etc!
Thanks cobias!
