Oh man! That hurts... Geoff, at least you are ok. Car can be fixed, get it looked at as soon as you can, that is the side where the A/C lines go through, there is a radiator on that side as well... make sure they look at all that.
Keep us posted.

Is the first picture the end of the corner, looking back? The gravel at the end of the turn looks very slick, just ready to throw the rear end.
Wow, you guys slid for a long time in the grass.
Was the wife in the car with you?

Yes, sorry to hear about your accident. That sucks.
Really in a high speed corner so you don't get into trouble with one of these cars is slow in so you can apply power to recover from a spin. It was just too hot in and you might not have lifted but that was or wasn't enough depending on how you look at it. Being netual in a high speed curve is almost as bad as lifting. Should be applying power before the apex to keep it stable.
And after you do start loosing it, brakes and lifting only makes it worse.
It just a mater of too fast in and not enough experience to recover from it. However, there is a point were not even a pro can recover from a too fast in or spin. :-)
The car is certianly fixable.
Fix the car do some DE and you will be all good.

Its a learning experince, an expesive one but experience nontheless.
Good thing everyone is okay and you had a lot of space, it could have been much worse.
and fwiw a C4 probably would not have done that.

Sorry Hawk that it happened to you....Hope your car will be ok...It looks like it should be fixable but maybe a bit expensive, but that is OK.....Just get it done right even if it takes a while....winter is here anyway...
