Default wheel nuts?

Noticed that my alloy wheel nuts are gettin tired, they look like metal strips/bits in them!
Think i may need sum new uns.
Ive seen new alloy ones, but have allso seen open ended steal nuts. Which are best?
Steal ones are half the price!

Steel ones rust.
original ones are expensive.
Cheap alloy aftermaket ones gall like crazy to the rims.

Best bet? Get new facory ones, never look back
Next? there are some zinc plated steel ones available
Next? if your lug nuts are in deep recesses in the rims, forget about them.

How are you using the car? I have the original alloy nuts on my cabrio but am running steel nuts on my coupe. I switched to steel when I began running track events. The steel gave me the comfort of extra strength and to know that I had sufficient thread engagement.

I use Jasmine for supply of wheel nuts , they are pretty knowledgable . Alloy fine for road use but need replacing after a few years of on/off as threads wear . Not cheap but nor is a Porsche. Steel are good as you can see how much stud is engaged in the nut , important if you use shims / spacers . They are heavier stronger and rust but you can stop that with grease / WD40.....

...also make sure you are using a six-sided socket, not a standard multi-point socket which can damage the head and "round the corners" of the nut.

Lindsey racing sells a good set of steel wheel nuts (made in Germany) for a decent price.

How about stainless steel?
http://www.type911shop.co.uk/shop/ar...26aid%3D149%26

To buy them from Porsche is crazy, they are about £8 each from them under half that OEM

Aftermarket ones are actually better finish than OEM, you will see that from your ebay purchase!

No nuts were or are magnesium Im afraid, that is a myth
