Haha, believe it or not, some folk actually desire these cars for reasons other than their outright performance. No one is going to argue that the 993 is the more sure footed and faster of the two, but if that's all that matters, you might as well look at a WRX. The 964 shares much of the 'goodness' of the 993, but is better value for money. Plus, when nostalgia factors into the equation, it places the 964 on some pretty good footing.

Seriously.

They're both great cars. We should be celebrating each others fortunes in owning these gems, rather than the opposite.

Having logged 50K miles in my 993, I can relate to the complaint that the modern levels of performance and comfort make driving it "nothing-to-write-home-about", compared to driving something that gives you the satisfaction of cheating death from successfully taking a bumpy curve at 40 - 50 mph.
