Default Lumpy Idle - Teraclean...Potential fix??

Recently had a service where the mech overfilled the oil.

The car developed an oil leak and lumpy idle...overfil resolved, no leak, however idle is still lumpy.

I suspect oil has ingressed into injector ports??

Rather than pull everything apart and clean I have been looking at alternatives.

Saw Teraclean on Wheeler Dealers....http://www.terraclean.co.uk/

Would this work?

Has anyone tried this system? What did it cost and was it worth it?

TIA

Default Teraclean...

I would pull and clean the ISV valve first.

Looks similar to Motorvac which I have used on multiple cars and is very affective.

There are a number of threads here recommending a Liqui Molly product that is not available in the uk under the name that it is in America, but there is an equivalent which is here that may be what you are looking for.

It wasn't a leak. The overflow tube for the oil tank vents into the air intake directly in front of the ISV tube.

Nope, the injectors have a straight shot onto the back of the valves.

Your idle is lumpy because the ISV has been fouled with oil. It needs to be cleaned (use odorless mineral spirits). You also have oil pooled in the intake manifold crossover tubes. Unless you take them off and clean them (and clean the other side of the throttle valve) to remove the oil, the oil will eventually works its way back into the ISV and you will continue to have a "lumpy" idle. And if it was really overfilled, the oil in the crossover tube will work its way into the cylinders (and affecting running).

It won't resolve your issue.

Your mechanic is at fault and should clean the intake manifold and ISV on his dime.
