should fit straight on, spacers will push the fronts out too much

8ET40 are already pushed out too much, assuming you have a n/b 964 front should be 8ET50 to 52

rear you will need a spacer to reduce the 10ET52 down to ~ ET47

a spacer reduced ET by the thickness of the spacer

Thanks Bill,

It was a set of Gemballa Le Mans wheels , I was thinking the 40 had to be spaced out to 47 so thanks for clearing that up, i am delighted with the set up on my car with the 17 cups and dont want to upset it going to 18" however plenty guys running 18`s and are perfectly happy.

Yes, 40 might be okay in the rear but sounds small for the front.

Just to add some clarity here.... If you add a spacer, you are decreasing the offset. I.E. if you have 40 offset, and you add a 7mm spacer, you end up with 33 total offset.

simplify this as well .. there are lots of meaningless numbers you can ignore, so you end up with this ...

10ET52
8ET40
