You guys should read 'Zen Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' - the thinking being your either view your 964 Classically ie you see them as a sum of there parts, as machines, want to understand how they work, appreciate the skill in building and engineering..or you view the 964 Romantically ie you see it as a beautiful car which you love to drive for the joy that brings you, the places you have been to - the experience it gives you.

As for me I'm a 'Classical Car Guy', my wife's a 'Romantic Car Gal'

Ah , zen & the art of mm takes me back to the seventies when i first took an interest in servicing
my motorbikes and distrusting dealer shops. I cant imagine owning a sports or classic vehicle now
without getting involved. Sometimes i take parts of my 964 apart just to clean & see how it works.
One of the things i learned is not to attempt a job unless i allow lots more time for the unexpected
& the " while im in here i might as well.. " Also patience & humility . Im over 50 now and took up yoga
last year to keep flexible - i recommend it !
