Road Trip to Le Mans 2012 Classic
Having just returned from an epic weekend at Le Mans Classic, travelling down in 2 Porsche 964's and having got a few interesting pics of Pcars and other interesting motors, I thought I would share a few if the journey down and some other interesting snaps.
Base camp for the weekend established, and a crate of beer already gone!

2010 Classic was one of my best ever Porsche experiences. Just so many amazing P-cars everywhere!
More pics please.

Did we see you going into Arnarge Sunday afternoon? I didn't see so many 964's but overload on everything else, there were some lovely early 911's on show.
I thought the food / drink / toilet /shower facilities were terrible for such a large gathering, but on the plus side we did 1300 miles and not a single problem, averaged 28 mpg & 0.75L of oil...which is none too shabby considering the speeds we were doing and some of the traffic jams around the circuit.
On getting home it was quite satisfying to looking at a well used, mud covered & fly splattered 64.

We left on sunday morning but we were in Arnage on friday and saturday. Yeah i agree the food could have been better and more choice, the que's for the food and beers were huge on the saturday so we hit the champaign tent as this was quiet and had the benefit of not being tanked up with 6 pints inside you, only problem was £70 a bottle it did get expensive in the end, but on the plus side we got to sit down at a table...
Like a kid in a sweat shop, you just dont know where to look next, and i'm sure we still only saw half of it! We missed the super car enclosure so no veyrons etc, also missed the Ferrari 250 gto's apparently there were around 20 of them at le mans and given there is only 34 or so left in the world (so i am told).
The track laps look good too, not often you get to drive on the oldest race circuit on race day in your own motor. Only thing would be any damage, there was an Aston db4 which took a hit from a tvr which looked quite bad, apparently it was worth in the millions too.

Oh yeah my sleeping bag and tent is still in the car now! Im taking a break from the car after 1200 miles we covered.
Also noticed these lazy birds in the services in france which just hung around and when i we stopped they were just picking off all the flies from my bumper and number plate and grille. They went from car to car! Not seen that before.
