Default Rear spoiler control module Help

Guys A bit of help please

Is the spoiler module under the passenger seat on 90MY/ 964 as it stopped working yesterday

The reason I ask is the passenger seat electric adjustment button stopped working and was feeling around under the seat in the morning to see if the plug had come loose as opposed to taking the seat out and I may of disturbed some thing

The symptoms are as soon as the car his 50 MPH the spoiler warning light comes on so I know the sensor is working OK also the over-ride button does not work

Do guys think I am in the right ball park ?

Also where are the micro switch contacts for the spoiler located in the engine bay if taking the seat out and not finding anything unplugged

I will do some photos for future guidance to others

Token Pic thrown in as we all like pictures

hi the module is definatly under the seat on a 90 car under the dash on 91 onwards the micro switches are under a plastic cover located under the engine lid held on with 2 p/screws i would test your motor first wich is in the same area with a 12v supply disconect the geared cable by pulling the rubber boot off and pulling it out and see if you can wind it up by hand ive had two second hand modules in four years paying around 80 pounds a time retail at 200 new need some one to service them now ?

When that happened to mine, I discovered that the whole gear mechanism had dropped off. I had no plastic cover at the time and found the gear in the bottom of the engine bay!

Apologies, there is a link... the spoiler has its earth point under the driver seat, described as Seat cross member under seat right.

Update

So I started with the Fuses and they were fine then I turned my attention to the engine bay

I have a spare 993 engine lid with all the electrics working so I removed the spoiler motor and just plugged it into the live feed on the 964s engine lid and it happily whirred away so that was the fault but on closer inspection of the outer casing on the cable drive to the spoiler mechanism had perished so water could get in and around the inner cable causing it to stick and put extra load on the electric motor and ultimately making it burn out

So guys I would check the outer casing in you spoiler transmission cable or even better remove it an pour a little lube down it

I will up load some pics later today
