Bent exhaust 'flare' (donut socket)
Greetings, all- I have a bit of an exhaust leak where the cat connects to the primary; looks like at some point the primary took a shot to the flange and it's no longer perfectly round/spherical/donut-shaped. I straightened it as best I could with a plier, but that'll never get it back to perfect...
1. Is there some trick way of reforming it? I have a press, and spare donuts, but I can't think of any way to fixture the primary to apply force to just the flange.
2. Copper-RTV? Not sure it will live that close to the cat...
In reality it's a pretty minor issue, but if it's easily sorted I'd spend some time- I think the car will sound better with only one outlet

I would suggest applying heat to the area where it is bend, and then work it into shape with a hammer and use the cone as an anvil.
You will need a lot of heat, so oxi/acetylene would be best.

Depending on how out of round it is, you might be able to get away with something like this: http://www.crcindustries.com.au/maniseal-exhaust-cement
