Default 993 Mirror conversion

I am looking at converting my stock 964 electric mirrors for some electric 993 mirrors.

Is the installation of the the 993 mirrors as easy as taking off the old ones and replacing with the new.

It would be nice if this was the case, but my experience nothing to do with Porsche is that easy.

Any information would be appreciated.

I replaced the flags on my car with 993 mirrors about 6 years ago. No it is not a straight bolt on. The plugs are different. It required replacing the plug on the door side with the compatible 993 plug. This also required matching up the wires per the directions I received with the mirrors since the color codes from 964 to 993 are not the same. The drivers side mirror on my car at least would not fit very tightly so I ended up putting a short length of rubber hose over the cam that snugs up the mirror base so it would tighten up enough. It is an easy conversion with the proper instructions for adapting the plugs, so do the requisite research or make sure the vendor you buy from provides it. All that said I love the updated look and after all these years they still work fine.
