I know, "search" is my friend and I've been at it for quite a while researching oil leaks. I especially liked the scale of 1-4 of 964 oil leaks.
Here's what I just looked at today and getting a PPI tomorrow morning.
1990 C2 94,000 miles. Blk/blk. Engine rebuild around 57K miles. asking $20k.
paint 9/10 interior 9/10 AC just fixed.
He drives it once a week at most.
After looking at the pictures and if the leakdown test comes back within acceptable limits, how concerned would you be with the oil leak? I know these 964s will seep oil and it is rare to find a bone dry one, so..... it's probably a subjective point if the engine tests are WNL, right? Time to hunt down the culprit from ancillary areas? Don't think he's cleaned his garage floor in months either.
I'm sure more than one of ya'll have been in my spot- don't want to have the excitement of finally getting a 964 overshadow sound judgement... but then again that's a whole separate topic, right?

I've seen worse. If it is just some wetness but not dripping on the floor, it's not too bad (but should still be addressed eventually). If possible, clean up the grime nice and dry and go for a drive - get it hot.
If it's not wet and dripping I wouldn't worry about it right away.

just talked with mechanic- looking at approx $4,500 for top end re-seal (plus "while you're in there" like mentioned above)
needs new wheel bearings (+7 hr job)
needs new suspension bushings (axel struts) in rear which translates to new suspension pieces (might as well upgrade those anyways).
Leak down test 5% each cylinder
needs 4 new tires
brakes 75%
hmmmmm.......... Now I'm thinking $17k
