Default OBC tach displays 00

I'm trying to sort out why the OBC doesn't work. Anyone have an idea of where to start?

Is this car new to you? Do you know if it worked previously?

You can gently slip it out and check the connections. Use soap on the rubber when putting it back in.

Actually, the steering wheel might get in your way, so slide the Speedo out first, then move the tach forward as far as you can, and reach around behind to be sure things are conected.

Which display is showing 00? Have you checked the position of the control stalk? Does it respond to input from the stalk?

Yes, I got it a few weeks ago. I knew it didnt work when I bought the car. The clock also doesn't work when the car isn't running and if fuse 12 is left in, the obc display stays lit.

I feel like it is all tied together. There are some aftermarket wiring for LoJack and a remote radar detector which I plan to remove. All of the functions/lights on the clock work right.

The OBC does stay lit for a period of time either way... FYI. Though you're o n to something with the clock I would guess.

The stalk doesn't make the unit respond. The OBC itself is displaying 00 like it is stuck at 00 on the trip meter. I got the clock issue straightened out. I have the tach out now to inspect the circuit board and replace a bulb (not the backlight for the display).

Has anyone had this issue before? Hard to believe I'm the first one.

I'm wondering if the OBC is bad or maybe it is the stalk.
