Default Intermittent early Rev limit

Hi all,

my car is having a bit of a hiccup. It drives a dream but every now and then I hit an early rev limit at circa 5700-5800 rpm, I understand that this could be linked to some failsafe mode in the ECU. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers,
Amrik

Not sure how to check that. Anyone know if the ECU logs errors?

Pretty sure that if you plug the diagnostic into the obd port it will report error codes.

Have you changed anything or played around with the wiring in the engine bay at all?

I had a very similar problem with mine and the reason ended up being because I spliced the positive feed for my MAF from the wrong wire and the signal cut out at 5700-5800 rpm so the car just died when it should be pulling like a train.

Thanks Alex,

Its been doing it since I bought it, so its nothing I've done. Sadly I don't have diags, so I'm going to get the shop to look at it.
