Default Tire wear

1991 car is lowered. Inside fronts are wearing at twice rate of outside fronts. What factors should I consider for alignment? Does the lowering setup affect the specs of the alignment? Have no issue with handling. P Zero tires. Thanks.

You have too much camber for your driving style.

I know I don't over-inflate my tires, but my middle section is almost to nothing, with the outer and inner almost equal--- rear tires here. I'm on RS alignmens specs on Bilstein HD and Turbo springs.

The 2 possible causes are:

- too much negative camber (as Feral posted)
- toe out (have a look at your a-arm bushes...)

I vote toe out. I have run my lowered 964 at -1.5 deg camber on all four corners and really did not see excessive inside tire wear.

On the other hand, I ran a non-Porsche autocross car with a significant amount of front toe out, and it ate the inside edge of my tires very quickly.

Bottom line is a visit to a competent alignment shop is in order.

buy directional tires NOT assymetric so you can switch them over.

but agree with comments above .... -2 neg camber on front seems to wear well for street driving and occassional track day. search my previous posts for caster and toe-in.

Thanks, guys. Basically, an alignment shop is going to have one thing on their mind, "align to spec". This is where I really need your input. After I find out what the car is set to, what do I say??

U say:

- 1,5 camber all 4 wheels
Max caster
+ 0,5 mm front toe
+ 1 mm rear toe

Than you add: "please, don't argue!"

Ciao
