Default 1992 964 Stereo removal

Are there any DIY for removing the stereo? I might be slow, but I just can't see how you get at it with the dash closed out like that. There is an aftermarket in there right now so someone did it before.

I haven't done a stereo install in awhile. I read something about a key that you need to put in someplace to release the body of the stereo that the faceplate sits on???

My old and new stereos (both aftermarket) never seem to fully lock in, though they are tight. As such, I can reach under the dash and just push the head unit out from behind. Might be worth a try before bothering with removed tools.
