Default Which 928 front rotors fit with 964 RS brake setup?

All, I'm looking for the 928 PN's that can be used on a 964 with an RS brake setup. The reason I'm looking is I want the ones that are not cross drilled and from what I've been told the 928 rotors will fit the bill.

Thanks in advance, James

Sorry, can't help you there. Here are the 964 Turbo part numbers (drilled):

Front Rotors:
965-351-045-00
965-351-046-00

Frank, that's what I have on the car now but for Club Racing the cross drilled ones crack pretty quickly.

Thanks for the information though.

Cheers, James

I think you want the 322x32mm 928 gts ones. They are significantly more expensive than the grilled 965 pn ones.

At the rate I go through the cross drilled ones, it will save me in the long term. My girlfriend drives the car in DE's as well so the car sees a lot of track time. Do you know if there is a specific year for the GTS rotor I should be looking at?

Cheers, James

No i think there is only one type.

928 351 046 01
928 351 045 01

Factory ones are plain.

If you search in the 928 section someone sells a two peice rotor.

Disc Brakes Australia do a slotted rotor if that's your thing.

PS for goodness sake check the fitment when you buy dont just take my word for it!

Outstanding, thanks Alex! Yes, a bunch of the track folks over here use this rotor so I know it fits, I just didn't have the p/n.

964RS front calipers will want 322x32mm rotors w/ 928/964 o/s

the only ones I've ever seen are the 928GTS and the 964t(both 3.3t and 3.6t), these are all drilled

the 928S4 used the 304x32mm rotor which is not drilled but these use the calipers which are 964RS sized but that don't have the 964RS/964t raised mounting bosses. These calipers use the same pads as the 964RS and 964t but use a less broad rotor because of the lack of raised mounting boss and were used on 993 front and 928S4.

So you need to carefully determine which front caliper you have before purchasing

the possibilities are
Big Red which was used on 993tt/RS front, 964 3.6t front and a black version which was used on 928GTS these all need 322x32mm rotors and a 132x58mm pad

the slimmer version of the Big Red w/ raised mounting bosses aka Big Red light, these were all black used on 964RS front, 964 3.3t front, these need 322x32mm rotors and a 132x48mm pad

the slimmer version of the Big Red w/o raised mounting bosses aka Big Red light, used on 993(black or silver) front, 928S4(black) front, these need 304x32mm rotors and a 132x48mm pad but can be used on 322 when spaced out away from the axle

be careful to get rotors w/ 964 o/s if you have 964 wheel carriers and 993 o/s if you have 993 wheel carriers

Without wishing to hijack, can anyone (Bill ??) confirm the difference between the 964 3.3T and 3.6T front discs ? I am led to believe that they are the same size and offset, but the pad contact area is bigger on the 3.6T disc.
For some reason the 3.6T disc seems to be cheaper to buy, so if the dimensions are the same then this will be a cheaper alternative for my RS.

thanks,

Jamie
