Default Exhaust fitment (generic off topic)

I'm going to put a cat back exhaust on my other car (2008 Audi TT 3.2). The Audi forums are not real active, so I thought I would post here. It is a slip joint type (Milltek) and they say you "might want to" sealing the joints. Should I use high temp silicon or tape? Looks like the PO used some type of (fiberglass?) tape on the joints. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I've used this stuff before, with decent results. Patched up a 1/2" tear in a buddy's Camry's muffler in high school, held for the 2+ years he owned the car.
