Default Need help on LAST connection on engine install!

It took a year to rebuild my engine (from the connecting rods up). Today, I reinstalled it and hooked every electrical connection BUT ONE! I can't determine where the ground wire (8 Gauge) hooks to the engine. It looks like it bolts to the starter, which already has a wire (red - maybe 10 or 12 gauge) that goes up to the top of the engine).

I even have the 7 volume manual and can't definitively determine where it goes.

There is a ground wire that attaches with the bottom mounting bolt for the starter. This may be the location/wire you are referring to.

These are the 2 locations that the wire would logically go. For now, I have it on the starter, but it's just laying there (with the battery undone).

Just went out to the garage to have a look see. The ground cable goes from the chassis in your first picture, to the bottom nut that holds the starter motor in place, as in your second picture.
