Hi John!

www.the-ecu-doctor.co.uk got the job because of their mellow website, reasonable price and lots of good testimonials

www.injectioncorrection.co.uk was the other company that came recommended - with faster turnaround but higher prices and, importantly they promised to return my call after I enquired, but didnt..
They might be good for an ABS or CCU rebuild.

www.bba-reman.com are the biggest fish in this area I think, but I have no direct experience with them.

How's that for service!

I'm just in from the garage, she LIVES!
Another anticlimax I guess, as I have no reason to give you, despite all of your help: I systematically stripped everything down and built it back up again. Pulled out and checked all of the lower spark plugs as well. There was a little crud on the lead end of 2 of them, but not much to write home about.
So, I don't know why, but she's running and I have paid 40 quid to have my ECU checked out, and learned stuff about avoiding ECU damage in the future - and have found a great company, they couldnt have been better.
Now for a drive, well tomorrow anyway. The cat bypass noise adds a harshness I'm not sure I like, but lI'll wait and see what it does at 4.5k rpm!
Thanks for all the help..

You are probably aware of the neighbours, you'll get over that, and grow to love the sound.

Glad to hear she's up and running again!

As for the bypass, come on, don't be a little girl. You know you like it!
