Looking forward to seeing the end result - bet you are too!

I agree about Black reflecting very well when it's clean. Here's a photo I took years ago of my old Satin Black 964...

WOW Andy! That is one amazing picture! I love black/ mirror!

That's the thing with black, one minute it's a blue sky, next green over hanging trees, the next concrete industrial buildings

Right I have a new headache....

Peter has discovered weeping oil pipes on the right side of the car during disassembly. He's in the process of costing up the repair. What do you gents think, what's your diagnosis?

Frank this is sooo impressive mate! It will be an amazing car when you get it back and with the big brakes it will be an awesome drive. While it is on the ramp what about a cheaky supercharger...!

It looks like the union between the hard line and the flexible hose. I had the same issue at the rear (line from oil tank to filter housing). There have been a few threads about reusing the hard lines and replacing just the flexible hoses - a rather significant savings.

Best of luck

Sounds like a plan - however roomer has it that Porsche only sell the full set, lines and hoses. Although could the hoses be made up?

Cheers mate - it's only as awesome as the people here on this forum and the people working on it!

Supercharger! Hell yes! But, that's part three and that won't be for a while!

Hoses can be made - I have had one done at a local shop (in MA). The hoses and crimp collars can be purchased here: http://www.elephantracing.com/oilhan...11hoseends.htm (no affiliation).

Wouldn`t expect the cost to be too bad. Not sure exactly what part number that pipe is but you`ll either get lucky c£60 or it will be around £180. Cant see it being much more than that.

Can`t wait to see your car in the flesh. The AM black is going to look unreal! Looks like your trying to make it the best 964 in the country.

How tasty do those spanking new big reds look.

Those 2 oil lines are parts:
964.207.135.04 lists for $437 and porscheoemparts has for $373
964.207.133.04 lists for $443 and porscheoemparts has for $377

There are aftermarket ones available from pelicanparts for less

I mentioned porscheoemparts and pelicanparts as I have ordered from them numerous times always with great service.

Buying the flexible hose and crimp collars and having them made is a pretty good savings

Frank if you do get stuck, I have a set I took off my car as mine was all changed. There may be the odd dents but a lot better conditon looking at your photo, but can take some photos for you if you want. As for new pipes, well it cost me a fair bit of money.

Welcome to the land of 964s, but good progress Frank! This is the problem when you strip your car, you will encounter odd bits and pieces which need sorting.

Looking good yet again Frank! Compared with the car I "met" a year ago (which was already great) it is almost a new car Those big reds are going to be incredible - you're going to need those harnesses just so you don't get hurled through the windshield when you step on the middle pedal...

Jumping around your many improvement posts, fwiw I think your current speedlines are the best lookers on a 964...with the new paint job and the big reds it'll look mint.

Can't wait to see the pics of the finished article.

Go for original oil lines. Yes they're expensive but once fitted they can be forgotten. As norm says, once you start work on a 964, the extras inevitably crop up. It's exactly the same why an engine rebuild usually turns out to be 50% more than the original estimate. Oh, and don't be suprised if they find that the oil cooler needs replacing aswell.

Perhaps try http://www.pirtek.co.uk/ for the hoses.
