Default And money keeps rolling....out

Today - in a very hot summer friday (37° Celcius) I took my beloved beast to buy some oil for it (Liqui Moly 10w-40) when I restarted - after spending around 5 min, in the oil shop - I was not a good start, rather hesitant so I went straight to my mechanic to test the battery but it was not, it´s the alternator that is only delivering 13,2 volts even with the engine accelerated.

So I have an alternator rebuild coming and the mechanic told me that my dual mass flywheel is getting noisy when the engine is switched off so maybe I should buy one and with a clutch added to the bill

Just when I was hoping to start spending money on improvements (strut brace and performance chip) my car reminds me it´s 19 years old and still needs maintainance

Should have bought that 2007 Cayman S on december...or not?

You're still better off in the long run in an air-cooled car. The Caymans are neato, but that whole M96 engine issue makes me really hesitant to fall in love with one. (Google Boxster Engine Problem)...whoa.

I have a complete DM flywheel-clutch-pressure plate on sale. It' s all in excellent conditions, been used for less than 10.000 km (never on treck) by PO.

Ciao

Thanks Tom, yes I am well aware of the M96 engine issues, that is the reason I am still owning my 964. since I can´t afford to have both

Henry I would not be using a 10-40w in 37˚C weather or any temp for that matter. Look for something heavier like a 15-50w. Just so you don't feel alone in this I have to replace my flywheel and clutch before spring as I am having the rattles too and I only have 60k on my car.
