Question Burgundy interior - what paint colour would you go for?

My current colour combo is Slate Grey Metallic with burgundy leather interior.

I need to get a few nasties seen to on the body, so I've got options of either going for localised repairs with some careful blending or going for a full covering of new paint.

Now, if I go for the full paint, I've started thinking about a colour change

I like Slate Grey, a lot, but it's not very exciting and I fancy something a bit more rude.

Trouble is, short of changing the interior too, I'm not sure many colours go with burgundy interior?

White and black paint feel like they'd work but what combos have you guys seen / got that work with a burgundy interior (photos much appreciated!)?

Cheers
Scott

To do a color change correctly you've got to do it everywhere..! Inside the hood (bonnet) , door jams, sills, engine compartment, anywhere you might see some old paint show through. It's pretty expensive to do it properly and you will reduce the value of the car.

I would actually be easier to change the interior than the exterior.

keep it the same exterior.... as mentioned above it is very difficult and expensive to do it right, and slate grey poking through in random nooks and crannies will irritate you after a short while

Kurt - you're probably right, it could be too much. I'll see how tempted I am but any suggestions!

Lemass - a blue could work. I did think about a dark blue (not sure how dark maritime is) - I remember Lotus Esprits with dark blue/red interior worked well. I think I've found my bodyshop, a local shop to me in Sevenoaks who did some work on our family wagon. But thanks for the offer, I'll bear you in mind if things don't work out with my local. Your avatar looks like slate grey??

Silvertarga - yep I can picture silver, that would work.

If your throwing cubic $'s at a color change, try Arrow Blue (first picture) or Ossi Blue (second picture).

Maybe you could get away with straight Slate Gray and not painting the trunk/engine compartment.

When I read your header my first thought was Slate Gray.

There you go.

Lightish dove gray. Or medium gray with a tinge of blue mixed in. I dare say you don"t want pink. !! ??

I'd keep the slate grey met with the burgundy. For all the reasons mentioned previously + I like the combo.

I have the opposite problem. My car is Burgundy, and I'm considering an interior colour change from Cashmere! Grey is on the top of my list at the moment.
