Default Long Shot - Spare 993/964 Distributor

Anyone have a spare kicking around they want to get rid of? Doesn't need to be complete. I'm scavenging for parts. Specifically the Hall Sensor.

I've tried the usual suspects thought I'd ask here.

Thanks in advance.

I have one, it's my spare. How much does a hall sensor run these days?

Sadly, the Hall Sensor is not sold separately in stores. I have to but the full distributor or scavenge for parts.

Here's a couple pics of the offending part. First is the part on it's own, the second is the par in situ.

I can understand if you don't want to part it out.

Cheers,

This distributor is the original one out of my 90 C4 (59,xxx miles at the time). I bought one off of pelican ($200) and had that one rebuilt ($175) and put the original on the shelf.

I don't know if you can find one cheaper than $200?? The primary reason for the backup was a potential distributor failure (of some sort), I never knew about the a Hall sensors failing and the subsequent PITA to find spare parts -

It's been a nightmare. I will look for a used one. Seems to be the only way. Thanks.

Hello Guys,

What are the symptoms of Hall sensor failure? I'm suspecting that my distributor is not running well.
I own a 964 C4 1992 MT, and recently, the car after 20 minutes of hard driving it starts to cut-0ff at 5 RPM !!!!
I'm wondering if anyone have an idea about whats going on...

Thanks Steen. I ended up getting a used on from a Pelicanite in Calgary a while back. I should have closed this thread.

All's well with the dizzy and electrical gremlins now...except for the fact that I'm pulling the engine to do the clutch etc.!

my hall sensor is beat up. Do n't know how it got that way. Seems like a black metal clip broke off somewhere and must have flogged the damm thing. Still works, but who knows for how long.

Glouth you mean 5,000 rpm? My car most usually only cuts out over 5,000 rpm, And sometimes at lower rpm. Why I am about to buy my third set of coils, and also was wondering if it could be dist related. Hope someone answers your post.
