Default KW V3 Installation: need answer quick!

I am installing my KW V3 this weekend and I am stuck The front went well a mounth ago. I am now on the rear and don't know if the top hat (purple alu ring) supplied with the KW struts needs to go in as well. See pictures.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

My 91 setup came with a mono ball setup in the rear. Maybe your 92 setup requires the stock top mount be installed in lieu of purple hat. Have you tried that. Sorry I can,t be more help. My rears went in very easily...

What was the resolution on this issue? Did you use the top hat?

Yes the top hat has to go up there too. One tricky things though is that you need to exactly and properly align the hat with the spring. It is a biotch to keep both lined up as you pull it through the mounting holes.

Hope this help a bit. Keep at it,.. it is relatively easy but use of patience is needed. The final results is very rewarding. I have mine in for over a year now and I am finally at the point I have them fine tunned. I use them on autocross, and the car handles extremely well.

Good luck with the project.
