Default New Valve Covers

While changing out my valve cover gaskets in an attempt to fix an oil leak I discovered a nice little surprise. Turns out the covers have corroded and fractured quite a bit...

This gives me a good reason (I suppose) to upgrade to a set of CNC'd covers. Out of the few that are out there, which ones are the best quality? Or are they all pretty much the same?

JMHO, but regardless of whose billet valve cover you choose, I'd strongly recommend having them anodized, based on where you live and the local climate. This will go a long way toward preventing corrosion problems again.

There are some good ones out there, but none of them are well protected against a salt-water environment.

Mine are crumbling away too. I just got some Hargett lower covers. They had the best price and good reviews. I think the price is better because they arent as beautifully finished as others, but serve the purpose fine. They look good to me, just have the CNC marks.

Steve, thanks for the tip about anodising - glad I got it before fitting, will now do this first.

Some of the others available for more money (tarret?) can be ordered red-anodised I think.

I bought Tarett lower covers and have been very happy with them:

They initially shipped covers for the wrong model, but replaced them right away and paid the extra shipping. Very nice people, and product looks and performs great..

Steve himself sells them. He's just too shy to share that here...
