Default Sparco/Recaro seat sliders

I have reviewed a lot of posts on Sparco/Recaro seat sliders but none of them discuss how far back you can move the seat with a slider. I am installing Sparco Evo 2 plus seats with Sparco aluminum bases. Using the stock holes the seat is about 3 inches closer to the steering wheel than the stock seat when the stock seat base is slid all the way to the rear of the car. Will a Sparco or Recaro slider allow the seat to be pushed back farther than just mounting the base directly to the floor?

I also understand the Recaro is preferred over the Sparco slider because the Sparco bar that releases the seat to slide is too narrow for the 964. Is this correct?
