Hey guys - having a strange problem with my '91 C2. If I lock the car, the alarm goes off about twenty minutes after it's been locked. Then just the flashers, and then nothing. This started happening after a pre-buyers inspection last week, where the shop doing the inspection had to charge the battery (even though I've never had to charge the battery or jump start the car the entire time I've owned it).

Is this a factory alarm or an aftermarket one? Have you checked the battery voltage? It should be 12.5v with the engine off and 13.5v with the engine idling. I'm wondering if you have a weak battery or a high current drain when parked & alarmed.

I had the same problem on my car. Turned out to be the central locking control unit (that also controls the alarm). I picked up a s/hand one and fitted it and have not had the problem since.

There are two different units - up to 91 under dash. '91 onward under front seat.
