Old vs new shock style
Dear all,
Does anyone know if I can mount pre 1991 C2 shocks on a 1992 c2?
I'm doing a bit of "experimenting" on a setup and have an offer to buy a rarely used set of pre 91 shocks. Know the rear is top piece is 58 mm long on the late model and 105 mm on the old. Rumour is it should be possible but have not been able to get confirmation 100 %. Txs.

You need an adapter piece at the top i believe. Blackbyrd has a pair for sale with photos, search October 2011 pelican 911 parts for sale to see it.

Haven't done it, but having an early car I've researched it. There's a 20mm difference in height (older=taller) and the bolt pattern is different. What you're seeking to do is possible, but requires some fab work. The word on the street is that Rennsport Systems makes (used to make?) an adaptor; try shooting Steve an email.

The change over happened during the 91 year so if you have a 91 check the pictures I posted. mine was built 9/90 and is the new style.
