Default Price range for 89 C4

Hi,

I'm a newbie looking to purchase my first Porsche.

I had set a budget of $25K to buy a well documented and updated 964 C2/C4.

Targa preferred but wouldn't say no to a nice coupe. Weekend driver with no track time expected.

I found two 89 C4 coupes, one with low miles (36K) and one with higher miles (90K).

Acknowledging that price will depend on condition, what sort of price range should I be expecting for the two?

I will get a PPI and verify that head gasket work done. Thanks for your help.

low 20's should be a good number for either. miles is not really a factor more maint, but if everything equal then pick teh low mile example

Good note on the miles not being a factor. I figured a little premium for the low miles but since I plan to drive it, I'm not willing to pay too much.

On the low mileage C4, the dealer price is over $30K so I wanted to check to see if I was missing something as to why it's so high.

I did check the price thread stickied up top for recent sold prices. Oh well, I guess patience is a virtue. I'll just have to wait until the right one comes along.

Not sure how far away you are looking but here is a c-list post from Seatle for a 1990 targa 76K miles, asking $25K from a dealer. The posting doesn't indicate it is a C4 but I think I see the diff lock control **** in one of the pictures:

Thanks for that Mr. G.

I've been avoiding black and green finishes. Too much work to keep clean.

They sure do look good when they are clean and shiny though!
