Default Clutch master - 993? or 964?

Is there any difference/benefit to using the 993 master cylindar in a 91 c4?

difference, yes/benefit, no.*
Also, it's no problem using the 993's as direct replacement. (Nice, because it's likely the only type you'll find.)

*The original's body is cast iron. The 993's, cast aluminum.

It's a moot point - I replaced mine last year and found that the 964 part has been superceded by the 993 part.

Same here... Couldn't find a 964 part and replaced it with a 993 part. Don't notice any difference between a new 964 part and a new 993 part in terms of operation.
