I have very limited mechanical knowledge and would appreciate the views of members.
The harmonic balancer/pulley in my 1993 964 wobbles, somewhat. My local independent Porsche mechanic will investiage and repair next month.
In the meantime I was curious to know if members where aware whether this is a common problem. The engine was removed 7 years ago - new gaskets, rings etc, so am not sure if the problem could be traced to that.
Could it be that this problem is aged-related?
Any advice would be much appreciated

My pulley wobbles. I purchased a used crank pulley and it wobbles but not as bad as my original (installed by a professional with the correct tools). Only wobbles at idle.
I am also curious how many wobbly pulleys are out there.
The tech book states that you can check for run out and tap with a rubber mallet to straighten the pulley.
As our cars age, I wonder if it has anything to do with the rubber insert that is part of the balancer?
If you price a new OE pulley, make sure you are sitting down
