Default Tiptronic park and first

Brand new Porsche owner and yes bought a 91 with Tip. Car runs great down road. But when in tip first gear does not work. Car just revs as if in neutral. Also it does not want to go into park. Lever shifts to park but transmission is not engaged. Any help would be appreciated.

Update - if you put it in first gear in automatic mode - it works great - first all the way up to drive; however it will not pull in tiptronic mode and still locks into park infrequently. I guess based on the lack of posts that this must be un common

Bulldog: Pictures to go with the very brief intro may help a lot...

RL is a great forum (as you can see in the other post); but you sort of ran in the door screaming you need help and a very brief description of the problem while all the rest is thinking "who is this guy?!?". Just try again

Can't help with the tip... drove one for a few months and didn't have any of these effects.

not many people have problems with the TIPs thus hard to answer your question. Maybe the shifter or switches need adjusting. Thats all I got.

Thanks for the feedback. After restoring 26 corvettes I probably did just jump in with questions. But going from a good knowledge base to virtually zero has been a little frustrating.

Current success is - front brakes, rotors and pads, front hood shocks and rear deck lid shocks (dont want to do that again) oil leak repair, removal of serious water spots from all windows (toothpaste polishing wheel) Received seats yesterday from LA dimantlers so they go in this weekend.
