Default Replacing the standard non airbag steering wheel - what options?

After driving more modern cars as my daily drivers, I can't help feel a little disappointed with the standard large diameter and thin rimmed non airbag steering wheel in my 1990 C4. So a few questions:

1. Bearing in mind that my car is not a track machine, what have people changed their standard steering wheel too to overcome this?

2. Was the RS's steering wheel smaller in diameter and thicker rimmed than the standard C2/C4 wheel? If so, can you buy them now as an after market item?

3. I want to keep a more standard look to the cabin, so I don't want a full on race style wheel. Has any one fitted the 930 style steering wheel that I see so many online guys advertise?

Thanks, Matt

Isn't that what they call the "930S" wheel? I think quite a few 964 RLers have that in their cars

Yep it is the 930s style, but I am confused why they have not listed it as fitting the 964. Maybe because you require the extra fitting kit?

I have seen it on a few 964's at Autohaus Hamilton.

The Porsche original has only three mounting holes, my streering wheel is modified to fit the MOMO six hole standard.

Yes, you need to get the correct Boss to make it fit. The one they say to use is this one:

..and it lists the 964 as being compatible with it. I have the same wheel myself.

First you will need to change the steering column and the joint near the pedals. Then you can put the 993 or other porsxhe airbag steering wheel. You will also need the steering column switches plastic cover and the clock spring. I went even further and i retrofitted airbag and passenger s airbag wirh computer sensors and everyrhing
