Intermittent 964 ignition
Ok here is the problem: 95% of the time the Porsche starts just fine, every once and a while I crank it over and it fires up and imediately dies; when I go to turn the ignition again nothing happens? All the dash lights will come on, radio works, headlights are good, but no starter motor... I have resorted to push starting the car and it has worked every time but I feel a little silly pushing my Porsche. I get home and turn the car off then try the ignition and it works fine over and over again. Any ideas on where to start my search?

The place to begin the troubleshooting process is the battery and ALL of its cables & connections and grounds.
Once you know thats all 100%, you can proceed to testing the starter/solenoid assembly.

I had faced this problem before and find out that previous owner install a relay (which sit beside the starter) to the starter motor and it gone bad. No idea why install a extra relay, but working fine after replaced.
