Default The Long Kiss Goodbye

I sold the 964 , for personal reasons.

The relationship started off with the SUV ride height, but was honest, and had a good engine:

Met a few of its fellow air-cooleds, or not, along the way :sly

Had some nice drives:

a new coat of paint:

and essentially endless hours of happiness :thumbsup

So long, old friend, and I'm sure you'll give the new owner tons of joy too :-)

I'll still be hanging around, waiting for my next 911. You know, it'll likely be another 964

I'm sorry to read this...

I hate that feeling when you get out of the seat and realize that may have been the last time... and then someone else gets in just to make all the more obvious.

Nice pics BTW... maybe one day you can be reunited.

Sorry you had to sell the car; you put a lot of work into that red beauty!
Looking forward to seeing what you get next?!

I know the feeling. I had it when I parked my 75 S that I had driven for 200K. I had just bought some property and was planning to build a house. The 911 needed major work, so it sat parked under a tree....for 10 years.

But I promised I would never let myself forget the feeling of driving a 911, and when I was finally able to get into the 964, it was like I had never let go. It was even better, it was a 964 C4 with all the improved power, comfort and handling!

I hope the reason for selling was not due to difficult times, but if it was for that reason, I hope they will not last long. I'm worried myself. Damn politicians.

Thanks guys, it's almost like family here.

I sold the 964 cuz it was becoming an idol to me, and I choose to honor God. Some may understand, some may not, but please don't let anyone think I'm judging them. It's about my relationship with God, and how I can't let anything come between us.

I'll stll be around, and maybe one day, when the 964 doesn't consume me sooooo much, I'll be back.

On another note, when the new owner took my old car to the air-cooled specialist, he was told by the mech that he bought the best 964 in town.

Respectfully, next time, you might reflect upon your car in the same way as the Eric Liddel character did (of his running), in "Chariots of Fire":
I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure.
My wife & I say that ("...I feel God's pleasure") from time to time when we're indulging our own indulgences. (Her's is running & driving, mine's the 964.)
It's our shorthand to remember such as a celebration of gifts -- and not making them a center.
Helps keep things in perspective.

YMMV.

Cheers.

I'll say amen to that, Lonnie

Ecc 5:19 Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work - this is a gift of God.
