Default You donīt know how lucky you are....boys

A friend of mine added a third Porsche to his collection last week (1968 911 and 1989 3.2 Carrera), the new car is a 1995 993 Carrera C2 manual trans., Polar silver with blue interior. The price he payed 100K U$S the car is in very good shape with 79000 kms.No upgrades whatsoever....
There are many more potential 964-993 buyers here than cars available.
The only way to get one here is to live in another country for at least 4 years and then bring it here when you return....

Ouch! Maybe I'll ship mine there to sell.

964 911s are generally advertised for US$40K - $80K in Australia currently, with exceptional C2 coupes or factory wide bodied cars commanding the higher prices.

Some other current examples include:

* Anniversary C4 for ~ US$115K

* 964 3.3 Turbo for ~ US$120K

* UK spec 964 RS for ~ US$160K

IIRC, 964 911s were approx AU$180K when new, which was the price of a decent house back in the 1990s, so relatively few were sold locally.

I guess it's all comes down to supply and demand.

I dont really care what the prices are elsewhere, I looked so long for my 93' C2 and finally found it, in my eyes its priceless. I wouldn't sell it for the world...

Its tough to replace original paint and great condition. IMO

Just so you know though, I do consider myself lucky to own one of these. They are amazing vehicles.....

We are indeed lucky in the US when it comes to pricing and taxes on these cars. When I purchased my RSA I lived in Ireland and paid approx. $25,000 in misc. taxes to import the car into that country from the US (it was still cheaper than buying a comparable car locally). Top that with $3,000 annual road tax for each year after that. We are luck here in the US!

So, I can't just drive one down and leave it with a "buddie" for a while?
