So far so good in NH. The storm is just starting to arrive, keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't cause any damage to the house. I've put away all of the things outside and I bought 5 gallons of gas for the generator.

Rough nite here in Delaware...trees falling mainly due to the saturated ground. 14 inches of rain & up most of the night trying to keep the water from taking over.

Not over yet & stay safe in NY & beyond.

Storm passed to the north and it appears that there is just 1 band left on the back half. Had 7" of rain to add to a new record for a month of rain.

Damage from the wind is minimal around me and we still have power!

I believe this storm was severely over-hyped by the Weather Channel. It was windy, had lots of rain & downed power lines, fairly standard stuff.

The biggest issue is the loss of power, however, if you have a generator things really aren't that bad....

They were spot on track wise but they were slightly off timing wise and waaay off intensity wise. It was still a dangerous storm with some loss of life:

P-car was evacuated:

Alanp - My son and family are in Milton. They made it through the night OK. Lost power in the middle of the night. He got up at 4am and set up a shelter for the badass generator (that his wife bought the last one on Friday), put in a groundrod, fired it up by 530am, rewarded his manly-ness by brewing a cup of coffee (and powering the sump pumps), and the power promptly came back on. The scary part for them were the tornado warnings - pitch black outside, already wind+rain, and coming from foreign directions. (growing up in IN, we know how to watch the skies....). Lewes apparently got hit with a tornado.
He is at the brewery today, trying to keep the fermentors running.
Stay safe. Good Luck to all.

Glad everything was OK for your son DW. Tornados were all around North Delaware & scare the hell out of me but we were lucky. Folks next door took a tree to their house with lots of damage & declared unsafe so had to move out.

A few sandbags kept the H2O out of my garage & away from the Pcar.
