Warning: New aftermarket relays and DMEs are largely junk
As a precautionary measure I purchased a DME relay from a reputable online retailer and it failed within 2 months of installation. The original (Parts # starts with 944) still works fine.
My turn signals were not resetting and the clicking sound was inaudible. I bought an aftermarket Signal relay (the one that is located in the passenger foot well). That lasted about 9 months. this weekend whenever I signaled the light would stay solid and not blink. Then halfway through my ride I got the xmas lightup of all the warning lights on the dash. I swapped the original one back in and voila, problem solved.
Either they do not make them like they used to or I have very bad luck with modern relays.
