FS: 1990 Porsche 911 C2
1990 Porsche 911 964 Carrera 2 ... 25k obo
Pink slip in had, registration current. Clean VIN.
Car has 127k miles, engine rebuilt at 118k (paperwork showing rebuild in hand)
Paint is pretty fresh, most of the car has been repainted (no accidents). Front and rear bumpers could use some attention.
Since rebuilt, only Brad Penn (high ZDDP) oil has been use and has been changed every 2k miles. Always garaged, not driven in the rain.
New clutch at 118k as well. RS clutch with light weight flywheel.
Reground cams
Fabspeed intake cover
Steve Wong chip
Secondary muffler bypass
Cross drilled rotors and steel braided brake lines (ATE Blue brake fluid)
Double din style Clarion radio unit with navigation (custom built)
RS Style wing
17in 996 10 spoke Porsche wheels (Hankook RS-3 tires in good condition)
Custom rear wheel spacers
ARP head studs
Momo steering wheel (car will come with original wheel with airbag)
Lowered on H&R Green springs dampened by Koni Yellow adjustable shocks
Unfortunately, there are a few bad things I would like to disclose …
ABS, not working. Since I had the car, it never has, never bothered to find out.
Sunroof failed on me. I paid to have it close. Does not leak (useless sunroof in my opinion)
Valve cover seals are ever so slightly leaking.
So more on the rebuild ...
- Top end rebuild included new valve guides, reground seats, and surfacing heads
- belts have been replace
- new cam chain guides
- new spark plugs
- seals
- new piston rings
- pistons were cleaned of all carbon deposits
- all the tin was repainted
- the list goes on and on …

Since you asked I would say price is too high. I just sold my car in the low 20's 53k miles and rebuilt engine etc at roughly 14k miles previously. everything worked so with teh ABS issue you mentioned etc I would figure your looking at high teens to low 20's at best.

I like the amber indicators... I'm going back to them soon.
Just washed, nice shiny body... good looking butt. Damn these things things still look good after all these years.
Good luck with the sale. Price sounds a little on the high end... but hey: you only need one buyer who really wants it; so good luck!

I am by no means trying to strike it rich on this sale. It was a hard enough decision to sell the car. I would be more than happy to find a price that would make both parties involve happy.
The center console was a custom built piece that holds a 10" screen. I also has the stock cassette holder removed and replaced with a pocket where an iPod cable can be found.

Well, if you get anything like I got on the RSA at the first of the year your "reasonable offers" will come in starting under $10K. Mine kind of settled in the semi-serious at $15K. Car did sell for $21K. (I'll bet if we compare notes, it will be some of the same guys.)
Another turnoff is that "show up with cash" thing. I had exactly one guy show up to look at the RSA. He was the guy who bought it. And I think he ended up just flipping it.
Lots of dreamers and wannabes out there in this economy. Sadly, few have $15K+ for a 20 year old car.

I hope I'm not comping off as unwelcoming. This is the ad I have up on Craigslist. I simply didn't want a bunch of kids showing up thinking they were going to get to thrash on my baby for fun.

Kids don't inquire about cars like this. Flippers do, however. I'll bet the most likely sale is sight unseen. And it's all going to be about price, price, price, and more price. You know what you need to get out of it to be happy.

Good luck with the sale. With the exception of the faulty ABS every thing looks good and well maintained. $25K is not unreasonable for a clean 964, especially when compared to a $15K example that needs $15K to be sorted out. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks James. I LOVE this car. Everywhere I go, I get compliments on it. The reality is that I would rather not sell the car. But I have decided to further my education and I am going a different route with my career. I hope this car goes to someone that will love and baby it as much as I have.
