stuck airbox HVAC

okay, car's 90% back together. got it charged at the shop. blows cold.
the new blower heater hoses arrived. i think they could have been saved if i had thought about how the cabin molding separate from the airbox, it should pivot and the hoses could have been saved. Only saying that cos they cost friggin $60 each.
i have a couple of left over screws, not too worried. i broke the trim ring on the stereo, cost $10 on ebay.
now I have this strange rubber spacer/bumper. Anyone have any clue? I suspect it's gas tank related, maybe between expansion and main gas tank ? or is it in the fuel pump assembly area ?

thanks. btw the Kuehl evaporator just needed a bit of massaging, gentle bending of pipes so that the expansion valve could fit right to allow to airbox to close. nothing major. Griff from Griffiths was very responsive on email.
i got the A/C charged up on Tuesday, so all the work was spaced out over 3-4 days.
