Introducing my 93 964 C2
Hello all, I just thought I would share some pics of my newly acquired 964. It has 145,000 miles and runs strong. Thanks to all of you for helping me sort out several things on previous posts. Haven’t got around to the sun roof issue yet though. Pic #6 is an oil leak on the hose from the thermostat to the oil cooler. Anybody have experience replacing this hose and maybe knows the part number. Pic #7 was my 86 930 that I wake up every day and kick myself for selling. The 964 has a couple of other small oil leaks that I will start tracing and hopefully locating and repairing with help from this site Also none of the interior lights work including the trunk and engine deck lights. All I have checked so far has been the fuse. As far as modes go maybe lowering it maybe not what do you guys think. After reading several horror stories about engine rebuilding I hope the German Gods are with me and I won’t have to worry about that for quite some time. By the way anybody from the Minneapolis area who knows a good Porsche mechanic?

Looking good, and the 93 is a great year. Should have nothing really to worry about even at 145k, especially if only minor seepage. Drive it a bit first, but I would have it lowered. I had a Bilstein PSS9 system on my 91 964 and it was great, low but very comfortable. You could also just get some H&R springs. Congrats!

Thanks, KaiB yea I miss her a lot. But I am very happy with the 964. Every time I turn it over I have to smile. CT944 your right I need to lower the car but I have not had any time to research the options yet. Cost vs. handling and adjustability. Any advice would be appreciated. Also I still can’t figure out the part number for my leaking oil line on one of the pics.

Nice ride congratulations, I replaced that hose on my 90 964 in april, it was kind of tough but I think the biggest problem for me was not having the right tools at that time, after 6 days in the garage every afternoon after work for 3hrs I was able to replace it , I think it wasn't that bad for the first time working on a Porsche.

Jim, I would be smiling a little bit more if that Blondie drinking the beer was in my passenger’s seat and maybe the other two in in the back seats. I think they could fit. Lol

that's not hose #2 I will get the part # for you and yes it's one hose and it's about 5 foot long , is the hose that goes on top of the thermostat
to the oil filter as shown in your picture where is leaking, I bought mine at the porsche dealer and I paid about $350 and pelican was around the same price, that hose connects right above where hose #2 connects as shown on the picture that laker posted

This line can be made by a local heavy truck shop for less than half of the OE hose. They will reuse the brass ends and crimp on a new line.
The current OE supplier for Porsche is using a regular rubber hose. The original line is made of a braided line. I purchased a line from the dealer. When installed a small bend is necessary after leaving the thermostat and running up the wheel well. The new OE rubber hose will kink and restrict oil flow--well it did on my car. It folds like a cheap suit
The braided line allows for a slight bend without kinking.

Thanks everybody for your help tracking this part down. Ja your advice is well taken but I ordered the OEM part and I was told if I was not happy with the part they would take it back. 21 and 22 also ordered thanks Opo.

When inspecting the new line listen for oil gurgling above the thermostat.
If your new line kinks, it will not be visible from the wheel well looking in. The line runs up the wheel well and my kink was against the inner wheel well and not visible.
My mechanic caught the issue when he had the car running on the rack inspecting for leaks. He could hear the oil gurgle.
Hopefully mine was an isolated issue. Keep us posted.
BTW--the two additional lines you ordered were leaking on my car--pretty common.
