Default Arlberg 964 Trip - VIDEO

I got back earlier this week from my annual driving trip with some old friends. This year we took in the Arlberg area of Austria where I ski every year, but a first visit to the region in the summer. Wow, what spectacular mountain roads we drove, many of them not open during the winter months. Four of us in varying 964's and another old friend in his SL63 AMG which was monstrously fast in a straight line but he struggled to stay anywhere near us through the twisties.
We did 2700kms in 5 days almost entirely without motorways (see below). I videoed some of them and have posted to youtube if you are interested in watching. 10 minutes of gazing at mostly 964s. If you have the bandwidth please watch in 1080:

Great fun, excellent trip including maxing the cars at 160mph on the autobahn on the way home. I just love these old 911s more and more. Here's a picture of my car at 2300m:

Regards

Green with envy.

Any issues with the local authorities?

Seight, I thoroughly enjoyed watching your vid. Looked like you guys had fun, and what such location, weather, company and of course the driving experience.

Excellent! Good choice of music too!ha German Techno for the end bit of fast driving!

Thanks to all - glad you are liking the film - and the music.

Track 1 is 'Mexican Road Race' by Herb Alpert
Track 2 is 'Need to be Loved' from Godskitchen
Track 3 is 'I Love the sunshine' from Godskitchen
Track 4 is 'Du Hast' by Rammstein

No problems with local authorities as there is no speed limit on most autobahns, and we mangaged to see very few police cars on our charges around the lanes.

great video, thanks for sharing. Must have been challenging with the steering wheel on the 'wrong' side for those roads?

I plan a day-trip to the alps for sunday, because I'll go to the hospital on thursday an will not be able to drive my porsche before september. Arlberg would be a quite perfect choise...

awesome video, beautiful country, next time leave a few more engine notes / exhaust in the video. Nothing like hearing the raw engine.

Thanks for all the comments. In answer to some of your questions:

My car is LHD specifically for these trips.

I would love to use more engine noise but on the mount shots at anything over 30mph the wind noise drowns out the engine. I keep planning to run a remote mic inside the cars but it's already an effort making these films as it is!

The camera is a Sony CX130 in 1080p with various lenses mounted on a Hague/Manfrotto twin suction mount. Edited on an Avid Adrenaline HD suite.

Cheers

WoW, great video, looks like a lot of fun. I envy your roads and landscape. What a beautifull scenery.
I am trying to convince my friends to buy an air cooled Porsche, and all they can mustard is a Miata, that's how they envisioned their middle-life crisis,...

Great Stuff, ... need to see more

Great video - thanks!

My wife walked by as I was watching....rolled her eyes & mumbled something about "you boys and your toys".

She just doesn't get it.
