Hi all,

I have a 1990 R Hand drive 964 Coupe. Recently, when it has rained hard there has been a leak. Water drips from the roof lining, by the edge of the drivers door just infront of the interior light.

On a dry day, I spent some time trying to locate the source. The roof onlly eaks when i spray water on the sunroof area.

I have opened the roof and poured water down each of the drain channels. Each allow the water to pass. But i still get water dripping slowly from the roof lining. Incidentaly, the leak will get worse when i drive, even if the rain has stopped.

So, whats doing it? Can I replace the rear drain tube? How?

Help would be appreciated!!!

I had something similar on my 1989 C2, the plastic tube in the back was loose,
check if water comes out of the rubber grommit
in the rim of the engine cover.

Hi Rarebear,

I think i have the same fault you had on my 1998 996 C2 even though my steering wheel is on the other side, i have pulled up the carpet behind the front passenger seat and water is pooling there only. I dont have a sunroof, its not a convertible and when it rains the floor fills up. Do you have any diagrams or instructions on how you fixed the leak?

I can tell you it isn't the radiator.

There are drain tubes for the sunroof which is probably the OP's issue. Sometimes they get clogged too.
